BACKGROUND:
This resolution will provide authorization to purchase a hike and bike trail easement for the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) to construct the Silver Line Hike and Bike Trail. To facilitate the construction of the project, it is necessary for the City to purchase 1,376 square feet of land for a trail easement from the property owner at 2020 Kelly Boulevard. MA Columbian, LLC is the owner of the property.

This project will support the City Council’s strategic objectives and vision of building a community that families and businesses want to call home by:
Sustaining quality of life - This project will continue to enhance the City’s trail system and provide a connection to the regional Silver Line Trail.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommends City Council approval of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to purchase property at 2020 Kelly Boulevard for a hike and bike trail easement in an amount not to exceed $10.00.
