Title

Consider Authorizing The City Manager To Reject The Proposal Received For Bid #24-019, Outdoor Fitness Equipment.

Body

BACKGROUND:

The project for BID #24-019 was to provide the City with a comprehensive outdoor circuit training system that supports simultaneous users on separate pieces of equipment.  The Fitness Court would provide training modules for adults of every age and fitness level.

The project was advertised in March 2024, and received one proposal. This proposal included equipment only. Based on the staff’s evaluation, the additional cost and needing to find other vendors for installation, concrete pad, and shade, as well as sponsorship requirements, led to the decision to reject this bid.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

Staff believes there are still opportunities to complete an outdoor fitness area this year and will work to make sure the project is a great addition to the community.  There are no additional financial implications.

IMPACT ON COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY:

This project will support the City Council’s strategic objectives and vision of building a community that families and businesses want to call home. The impact would be “fiduciary care and maintenance of infrastructure”.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:

Staff recommends rejecting the proposal received for outdoor fitness equipment.
