BACKGROUND:
This bid is for the Residential Street Replacement Program. It will be utilized by the Public Works Department to reduce the pending backlog of concrete street repairs with a residential street classification. This will enable the Department to repair the lowest-rated street segments as indicated in the most recent pavement condition survey.
On May 20, 2024, the City issued BID #24-048 for residential street replacements. Bid notifications were posted online, interested vendors were contacted and advertisements were placed in the Dallas Morning News. The bid closed on June 5, 2024. Seven vendors submitted a response.
The Public Works Department reviewed the submissions and selected B & E Concrete Paving based on the lowest responsive bid per item. The award will be for a one-year initial term. The award also includes two additional, one-year renewal options, if mutually agreed upon by the City and the vendor, for a potential three-year total contract amount not to exceed $6,000,000.00.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The residential street replacement projects on BID #24-048 will be purchased from budgeted funds from the cost center in the amount as listed below.
