Discuss Fiscal Year 2025 Proposed Budget.

BACKGROUND:
The Fiscal Year 2025 Proposed Budget was submitted to Council by July 31, 2024. On August 6, 2024, a Council work session will be held to provide Council an opportunity for initial questions and begin deliberations. At this work session, Council will receive a presentation on the Fiscal Year 2025 Proposed Budget. An additional work session has been scheduled for August 20, 2024, for Council to receive any requested follow-up information and to continue deliberations.
A separate item is on the regular meeting agenda for a vote to set the proposed tax rate, public hearing date, and the date for approval of the budget and tax rate. Setting the tax rate allows staff to begin statutorily required advertising and does not limit Council’s ability to lower the tax rate for budget adoption. The public hearing on the proposed tax rate and budget is scheduled for September 10, 2024. Adoptions of the budget and tax rate are also scheduled for September 10, 2024.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Commence initial deliberations and provide directions on desired changes to the Fiscal Year 2025 Proposed Budget.
