Body

BACKGROUND:

This is a request for approval of a Special Use Permit (SUP) to allow a short-term rental (STR) on a single-family townhouse residential property located at 1016 Thomas Place.

Public comments were received.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:

On February 6, 2025, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the request with stipulations. However, staff received written protest on the rezoning request, signed by the owners of 20 percent or more of the area of the land immediately adjoining the subject property and extending 200 feet therefrom. Therefore, the rezoning request shall not become effective except by the favorable vote of three-fourths (3/4) of all members of the City Council (i.e., a minimum of 6 votes needed in support).

Staff recommends APPROVAL with stipulations.

The attached ordinance reflects the action of the Commission.
