BACKGROUND:
Fleet Services recommends the purchase of one Ford F-350 Transit van to replace the SWAT Rapid Deployment van for the Police Department. The current unit is a 2008 Ford F-450, and it will be replaced based on the Fleet Replacement policy on age and maintenance.
The replacement unit will be built with specialty lighting, shelving and storage to carry the necessary tools and equipment to react quickly to regional emergency on-scene crime issues.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The vehicle will be purchased using previously approved budget funds in the Fleet Replacement Budget.

Silsbee Ford (via TIPS): $115,708.48

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommend City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement for the purchase of one Ford F-350 Transit van from Silsbee Ford in an amount not to exceed $115,708.48 through an interlocal agreement with the TIPS purchasing cooperative.
