BACKGROUND:
This is a city-initiated request for approval to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO) pertaining to the restructuring of all articles within the CZO. No regulatory content would be added, removed or modified under this amendment. Rather, this amendment includes the renumbering and relocation of specified articles, modifying article titles to improve consistency with nomenclature, and the utilization of reserved articles.
The amendments are proposed to improve organization of the document, to the benefit of staff, developers, residents and all other users of the CZO.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
There are no financial implications on the current and future operating budgets regarding this request.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
On March 5, 2026, the Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the proposed CZO text amendments.
Staff recommends APPROVAL of amendments to the CZO contained in the Results Sheet and adoption of the proposed ordinance.
