Background:

Fleet Services recommends the purchase of  one (1) Ford F-350 and two (2) Ford F-450 Trucks to be assigned to the Public Works Department. All vehicles being replaced are scheduled for retirement based on the Fleet Replacement Policy, which considers age, maintenance and mileage. 

 

These trucks will be purchased with customized lighting packages, truck bed configurations, and other options to fit the needs of the respective departments. All trucks will be used by department staff for daily operations.  

 

Financial Implications:

The vehicles will be purchased using previously approved budget funds in the Fleet Replacement Fund.

 Purchasing these vehicles ensures that City employees have the resources necessary to perform their duties, which supports a City Council strategic goal.

 

Staff Recommendation/Action Desired:

Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to approve a contract for the purchase of one (1) Ford F-350 truck and two (2) Ford F-450 trucks from Five Star Ford, through an interlocal agreement with the BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative, in an amount not to exceed $310,872.10. This amount includes a 10% contingency, if needed.
