Title

Consider Authorizing The City Manager To Approve A Contract For The Purchase Of Various Equipment From ASCO Equipment Through An Interlocal Agreement With The BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative In An Amount Not To Exceed $877,889.03.

Body

Background:

Fleet Services recommends the purchase of multiple pieces of heavy equipment to support the operational needs of the Public Works Department, including significant additions to the Stormwater Division. These purchases align with the Fleet Replacement Policy and support both replacement cycles and strategic capability enhancements.

The Stormwater Division is requesting approval for two new equipment additions:

• A Hitachi HX210 Excavator

• A Case TV620B Track Loader

These units will expand the division’s capacity to perform critical stormwater functions, including:

• Routine and large-scale drainage maintenance

• Vegetation and brush control along channels and easements

• Removal of sediment, debris, and obstructions that contribute to flooding

• Rapid deployment after storm events to clear drainage pathways

• Improved access to off-road and difficult-to-reach areas with heavy equipment

Investing in these assets will significantly improve stormwater system performance, reduce reliance on contracted services, and enhance emergency response readiness.

Additional equipment included in this request replaces aging assets in accordance with established replacement criteria related to service hours, maintenance costs, and operational reliability.

Vehicle and Equipment Assignments:

• Hitachi HX210 Excavator - New addition for Stormwater Division

• Case TV620B Track Loader - New addition for Stormwater Division

• Case 621G Loader - Replaces Public Works Unit 70039

• One Bobcat G35S-7LP Forklift - Replaces Public Works Unit 9274

• One Bobcat G35EC-7LP Forklift - Replaces Public Works Unit 9275

• Two Woods BW15-52 Brush Cutters - Replaces Stormwater Units 8288 & 8290

• Airman 185cfm Compressor Trailer - Replaces Public Works Unit 9254

Financial Implications:

These purchases will be funded using previously budgeted amounts from the Stormwater Fund, Fleet Replacement Fund, SW Replacement Fund, and Water Fund.
