Consider Approval Of The Purchase Of One Ford Bronco For The Police Department From Silsbee Ford Through An Interlocal Agreement With The TIPS Purchasing Cooperative In An Amount Not To Exceed $68,637.75.

BACKGROUND:
Fleet Services is recommending the purchase of one Ford Bronco assigned to the Police Department. The vehicle is intended to replace a Tahoe that is being used as a Police recruitment vehicle. This vehicle will be used to go to schools and job fairs for Police Department recruitment efforts. The Tahoe will be retired based on the fleet policy of age, mileage and maintenance.
Staff recommends purchasing this vehicle with the bid from Silsbee Ford through the TIPS cooperative purchasing agreement. This cooperative purchasing entity meets all state of Texas competitive bidding requirements. Use of cooperative purchasing agencies is allowed under Texas state law.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This vehicle will be purchased using budgeted funds in the Fleet Replacement Fund. The upfit of this vehicle will be the responsibility of the Police Department.

Staff recommends City Council approval of the purchase of one Ford Bronco from Silsbee Ford in an amount not to exceed $68,637.75 through an interlocal agreement with the TIPS purchasing cooperative.
