BACKGROUND:
Facility Services is recommending the replacement of the resin flooring in the shower restrooms at Rosemeade Recreation Center. The existing flooring is over 10 years old and is beginning to lift in places. This replacement will affect the men’s and women’s restrooms near the cardio room and main basketball area. Work will be done at night to minimize disruption to the programs at the Recreation Center. Only one set of restrooms will be done at a time in order to reduce the impact on the customers who utilize the showers. This work will take approximately 10 days for each restroom.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The flooring replacement will be completed using budgeted funds for capital replacements. The amount below includes a 10% contingency for any unforeseen costs.

IMPACT ON COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY:
The replacement of this flooring will improve the condition of a public recreational facility that provides opportunities for a healthy lifestyle for Carrollton citizens, which is a City Council goal.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommends City Council approval of the replacement of the resin flooring in the Rosemeade Recreation Center showers and restrooms by Business Flooring Specialist, Inc. through an interlocal agreement with the BuyBoard purchasing cooperative in an amount not to exceed $89,336.00, which includes a 10% contingency.
