Consider Award Of RFP #24-002 For Concrete Base Failure Repairs To B & E Concrete Paving LLC In An Amount Not To Exceed $1,000,000.00.

BACKGROUND:
This contract will be utilized by the Public Works Department to reduce the backlog of concrete base failure repairs, which will enable the Department to stay current with incoming service requests. This contract will primarily focus on repairing concrete base failures on selected streets and alleys. Most of the streets and alleys targeted under this program do not require complete replacement, and the repairs will extend their useful life by 10 to 15 years. As part of an FY24 budget initiative, outsourcing the concrete base failure repairs to a private contractor will allow the Public Works Department to reallocate resources to address temporary asphalt pothole repairs in a more timely manner.
Bid notifications were posted online, previous and interested vendors were contacted and advertisements were placed in the Dallas Morning News, to which four vendors responded.

Staff recommends City Council award of RFP #24-002 to B & E Concrete Paving LLC for the concrete base failure repair project in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000.00.
