BACKGROUND:
This is a City-initiated request to amend the “HP” Historic Preservation Overlay District to add to the intent for designating a historic landmark and historic district, change the name of the Historic Preservation Advisory Committee and their duties, change the criteria for a designation, add definitions, add application criteria and amend the process for designating historic landmarks and districts.
Ordinance No. 2706 was adopted by City Council on July 16, 2002, establishing the “HP” Historic Preservation Overlay District.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
On November 2, 2023, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended APPROVAL of the request. The attached ordinance reflects the action of the Commission.
Staff recommends approval and adoption of the ordinance.
