BACKGROUND:

This is a request for approval of a Special Use Permit (SUP) to allow a short-term rental (STR) on a single-family residential property located at 2510 Canterbury Drive.

 

On August 1, 2024, the Planning and Zoning Commission kept the public hearing open and continued the case to the September 5, 2024, meeting.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:

On September 5, 2024, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended DENIAL of the request. The applicant submitted a written request to appeal the Commission’s decision and requested the case be scheduled for the September 24, 2024, City Council meeting. A three-fourths (3/4) affirmative vote by all members of the City Council is required to overrule the Commission’s recommendation of denial.

 

Staff is recommending approval of the SUP request with stipulations and adoption of the proposed ordinance.
