BACKGROUND:
Fleet Services is recommending the purchase of one Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck assigned to the Building Inspections Department. The vehicle is an addition to the fleet for a new inspector position. This vehicle will be used daily for Building Inspections staff in the city. This vehicle was approved during the FY 2023 budget process.
Staff recommends purchasing this vehicle with the bid from Lake Country Chevrolet through the TIPS cooperative purchasing agreement. This cooperative purchasing entity meets all state of Texas competitive bidding requirements. Use of cooperative purchasing agencies is allowed under Texas state law.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The vehicle will be purchased using previously approved budget funds for the Building Inspections Department.
