BACKGROUND:
The Police Department currently utilizes the Vigilant Solutions Investigative Data Platform to investigate crimes, help locate vehicles and identify suspects through access to license plate reader (LPR) data from public and commercial sources and shared mugshot imagery from participating police agencies. The Police Department has used this platform since 2017 and found it to be an effective and valuable investigation tool for developing leads and solving crimes.
The Police Department is requesting authorization to renew the annual agreement with Vigilant Solutions for a three-year period, which includes an annual 4% escalator.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The cost of this agreement is $19,445.00 for the first year with a total contract amount not to exceed $60,690.00 over three years. Funds for this renewal are available from the Police Department operating budget.
The annual costs are established at:
Year 1: $19,445.00
Year 2: $20,220.00
Year 3: $21,025.00
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
This investigative platform will continue to provide investigators and analysts with an important tool that will promote effectiveness in criminal investigations and enhance public safety within the City.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommends City Council approve a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a professional services agreement with Vigilant Solutions, LLC in an amount not to exceed $60,690.00 over a three-year period.
