BACKGROUND:
This contract will be used by the Public Works Department for Consolidated Traffic Controls, Inc. to fabricate and install the second phase of illuminated street name signs in various locations throughout the city.
In FY22, City Council approved funding to complete Phase I of the illuminated street name sign program for arterial street intersections. This program adds corridor beautification and should improve driver safety by making the roadway names more legible at night. Phase I completed 70 locations, and Phase II will include the remaining 56 locations, see attached document for location details.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The installation of the illuminated street name signs will be purchased from budgeted funds from the cost center and in the amount as listed below.

IMPACT ON COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY:
This project supports and aligns with City Council’s goals and objectives of properly maintaining the City’s infrastructure.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommends City Council authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Consolidated Traffic Controls, Inc through an interlocal agreement with the HGAC Cooperative Purchasing Network for the manufacturing and installation of illuminated street name signs in an amount not to exceed $870,000.00.
