Title
Consider Authorizing the City Manager To Approve A Contract For The Purchase Of Two Greenworks Electric Mowers From Turf And Soil Management, LLC Through An Interlocal Agreement With The TIPS Purchasing Cooperative In An Amount Not To Exceed $69,248.14.

Body
BACKGROUND:
Fleet Services is recommending the purchase of two pieces of mowing equipment from Turf and Soil Management LLC (T&S) through an interlocal agreement with the TIPS purchasing cooperative. These pieces of equipment will be used by the Parks Department. This purchase consists of one Greenworks Optimus CZ60R24X zero turn mower, one Greenworks Optimus CZ52S24X stand on zero turn mower and one energy cube for charging. These are all electric mowers that will become part of Parks all electric crew for mowing around professional buildings.

Mowing units in the City's fleet have an average life expectancy of 5 to 6 years. The useful life is dependent on several factors, such as wear and tear, service application and the load/capacity. The unit being replaced has been in service for at least 6 years and is being retired based on age, wear and tear, and maintenance.

The Parks Department has selected two Greenworks Optima electric mowers to replace the more expensive Toro mower. These mowers are available from Turf and Soil Management LLC through the TIPS purchasing cooperative. This cooperative entity meets all state of Texas competitive bidding requirements.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The equipment will be purchased from budgeted funds from the Fleet Replacement Fund.

QUOTES:
Turf and Soil LLC (via TIPS) $69,248.14

IMPACT ON COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY:
Purchasing equipment such as this ensures that City employees have the resources necessary to do their job, which is a City Council strategic goal.
