Consider Approval Of The Purchase For Repairs At The Rosemeade Rainforest By Sunbelt Pools Through An Inter-Local Agreement With BuyBoard In An Amount Not To Exceed $95,823.75.

BACKGROUND:
On October 25, 2023, the Dallas-Fort Worth area experienced extensive rainfall overnight that exceeded 2 inches per hour. During this event, the pump room pit at the Rosemeade Rainforest, which services the lap pool and dive well, was flooded. A sump pump was installed in the pit area to mitigate flooding; however, the pumps were not able to keep up due to the overwhelming volume of rain. Extensive repairs are needed to replace both pool circulation motors, booster pumps, UV cabinets, and electrical wiring. A risk claim was submitted and approved through our Risk Management Department so funds will be reimbursable through insurance.
A 15% contingency is included to cover any unseen issues that might result during the repair process.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Sunbelt Pools is a reputable company that has completed satisfactory work at the Rosemeade Rainforest. The equipment and all repairs are being funded out of the following account:

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommends City Council approve the purchase for repairs to the Rosemeade Rainforest by Sunbelt Pools in an amount not to exceed $95,823.75 using the City’s existing agreement with BuyBoard.
