Title

Consider Authorizing The City Manager To Enter Into An Agreement With Marathon Fitness, Through Buy-Board, For Rosemeade Recreation Center Cardio And Weight Equipment Refresh In An Amount Not To Exceed $165,693.33.

Body

Background:

Staff is seeking approval to replace 13 pieces of cardio equipment, replace 9 pieces of weight equipment, and add 1 new piece of weight equipment to the inventory. Due to the age of the equipment, customer demand, and warranty expiration, the time has come for these pieces to be refreshed.

Staff has selected Precor, a brand well received by members and currently in use across facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Marathon Fitness is the vendor of Precor for the North Texas region and an approved Buy-Board vendor.

Financial Implications:

The equipment and installation will be funded out of the Equipment Replacement Fund which is made up of revenues from the memberships at Recreation Centers for replacement of equipment. A 10% contingency was added.

Impact on Community Sustainability:

In each interaction, deliver a comfortable, informative experience where every customer feels valued.

Staff Recommendation/Action Desired:

Staff recommends Council authorize a contract with Marathon Fitness, through Buy-Board, for Rosemeade Recreation Center cardio and weight equipment refresh in an amount not to exceed $165,693.33.
