BACKGROUND:

This is a request for approval of a Special Use Permit (SUP) to allow a short-term rental (STR) on a single-family residential property located at 1629 Palisades Drive.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

This is a request for approval of a Special Use Permit (SUP) to allow a short-term rental (STR) on a single-family residential property located at 1629 Palisades Drive.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

There are no financial implications on the current and future operating budgets regarding this request.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:

On November 7, 2024, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended DENIAL of the request.  The applicant has since submitted a written request to appeal the Commission’s decision.  Since the Commission recommended denial of the request, a three-fourths (3/4) affirmative vote by all members of the City Council is required to overrule the Commission’s recommendation of denial.

 

Staff is recommending approval of the SUP request with stipulations and adoption of the proposed ordinance.
