BACKGROUND:
Fleet Services recommends the purchase of three vehicles assigned to various departments around the city.
One unit is an F-150 extended cab and will go to the Engineering Department. The vehicle is an addition to the fleet for a new inspector position. This vehicle will be used daily for Engineering staff around the city.
One unit is an F-150 crew cab and will go to the IT Services Department. This unit is used by IT staff around the city. One unit is a Ford Transit 350 van and will go to the Police Department. This unit is used to transport prisoners between city and county jails. Both these vehicles are being replaced due to the Fleet policy on age, mileage and repair costs.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The vehicles will be purchased using previously approved budget funds in the Engineering Department and Fleet Replacement Budgets.

Purchasing vehicles such as these ensures that City employees have the resources necessary to do their job, which is a City Council strategic goal.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommend City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement for the purchase of two Ford F-150’s and one Ford Transit F-350 from Silsbee Ford in an amount not to exceed $180,293.61 through an interlocal agreement with the TIPS purchasing cooperative.
