BACKGROUND:
This contract will provide construction plans for the complete reconstruction of six streets in the Duncan Heights subdivision, including Northside Drive, Donald Avenue, Random Road, Cottonwood Road, Keneipp Road, and Willow Road. The project involves removing existing asphalt roads and bar ditches and installing new concrete, curb and gutter streets. It includes installing approximately 11,700 linear feet of new concrete street pavement, 23,000 linear feet of new curb and sidewalks, and 3,000 linear feet of new storm sewer. The construction of this design project will be split into two separately bid projects. The total estimated construction cost is approximately $7.5 million. This is a NOTICE program project.

Consultant selection was performed using a request for qualifications (RFQ) method whereby engineering firms submitted a two-part statement of qualifications which was evaluated by a four- person committee. The top eight firms were selected for design projects over the next two-year period.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Lockwood, Andrews, & Newnam, Inc. has submitted a proposal to perform the engineering design services for the project in an amount not to exceed $721,346.00. Funding for this design project is available in the Streets Consolidated Fund.
