Background:
The materials to be purchased will be used by the Public Works Department for street and alley repairs as base material at various locations. Flex base provides foundation support and reduces pavement stresses caused by vehicular traffic.
On September 9, 2026, the City issued BID #26-041 for Flex base. Bid notifications were posted online, and interested vendors were contacted, as well as advertisements placed in the Dallas Morning News. Eight vendors submitted a response. Big City will be the primary due to the pricing of flex base, and respond time. Greenville Enterprise will be the secondary due to pricing for Rip Rap and Gabion Materials, as well as response time.
Financial Implications:
The services on BID #26-041 will be purchased from budgeted funds for the cost center and amount as listed below.
