Body

BACKGROUND:

This is a request for an amendment to the Transportation Plan and Transportation Plan Map of the Carrollton Comprehensive Plan to remove the future expansion of Capital Parkway from the subject property. The future expansion for Capital Parkway is from Sandy Lake Road northward to Dickerson Parkway.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

There may be financial implications of removing a future roadway as it can cause disruption to the future development to the immediate north and its sustainability, as it is closely tied to the quality of its transportation system.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:

On July 3, 2025, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended DENIAL of the request.

Staff is recommending DENIAL. However, the attached resolution reflects the requested amendment to the Thoroughfare Plan, should the City Council approve.
