BACKGROUND:
A sealed Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued for the interior remodeling of the City Hall restrooms. The restrooms have not been updated since the facility was built in 1986. This project will provide a modern appearance and improved functionality. The scope includes demolition, new partitions, countertops, sinks, toilets, urinals, water fountains, sanitary forced air hand dryers and other accessories, lighting, floor and wall tile, and paint. The project will be phased to keep some staff and public restrooms open during the renovation.

The RFP was advertised in the normal manner and responses were received from (7) vendors. SDB Contracting Services was low bidder and had positive references. The document was posted to the city's website, advertised according to state law, and interested vendors and construction planning vendors were notified of this project via email. References were checked for this vendor and the proposal amount was evaluated by Facility Services staff and Heights Venture Architects, LLP (project consultant), and deemed to be competitive.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The work to be performed on RFP # 15-036 will be purchased from budgeted funds for the accounts and amounts as listed below.
