Consider An Ordinance Adopting And Approving An Operating And Capital Budget For The City Of Carrollton, Making Appropriations Therefore For The Fiscal Year October 1, 2016 Through September 30, 2017.

BACKGROUND:
The Preliminary Budget was distributed to Council on July 29, 2016 and a Council work session was held August 2, 2016 at which staff presented the Preliminary Budget. Additional Council work sessions were held on August 16 and September 6, 2016 for Council to deliberate and provide guidance to staff for the preparation of the Proposed Budget. The required public hearings on the Proposed Budget and Proposed Tax Rate were held on August 16 and September 6, 2016. The Preliminary and Proposed Budgets were filed with the City Secretary and posted to the City website (<http://cityofcarrollton.com/index.aspx?page=879>) in accordance with the requirements of the Local Government Code.
Required publications of Notices of the Proposed Tax Rate and the Budget Public Hearings were in the Carrollton Leader on August 7, 2016.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
City Council is requested to pass the attached ordinance adopting and approving and operating and capital budget for Fiscal Year 2017.
