Consider Approval Of The Purchase Of One (1) Portable Restroom Trailer From Texas Custom Trailers In An Amount Not To Exceed $52,000.00.

BACKGROUND:
The city spends thousands of dollars each year renting portable restrooms for events. A recent 12-month period showed expenses estimated at $28,150. Purchasing a restroom trailer as a one-time expense with a small clean-up fee per event would be an overall savings to the city. Staff evaluated the number of events held in downtown Carrollton, at the A.W. Perry Museum, at Athletics events, and special events such as the 5K Run, and dependent on the model selected, it may pay for itself in less than two years. Staff researched several companies and layouts and is recommending the purchase from Texas Custom Trailers.
Pricing from the three vendors is listed below.
Texas Customer Trailers - $29,000 - $52,000
Jag Mobile Solutions - $38,735 - $45,380
MMG - $43,000 - $46,600
Texas Custom Trailers offers multiple options and models. The standard model includes 5 stalls and would be sufficient for most events. The total cost of the standard model would not exceed $29,000 and would be available for delivery in three weeks. There is also an option for an upgraded model that includes 6 stalls and a handicap stall with a ramp. The upgraded model would not exceed $52,000 and may take up to 10 weeks to manufacture and delivery. Some events hosted by the City take place at facilities where additional restrooms are available and the standard model would be sufficient. However, some events take place in areas were no other restrooms are available and the upgraded model would be more appropriate. Portable restrooms can be added to supplement events and a single handicap accessible unit can be rented as well when other facilities are not available.
