Consider Approval Of The Replacement Of Two (2) Generators From Hastech Solutions In An Amount Not To Exceed $47,882.00.

BACKGROUND:
Fleet Services is requesting the purchase of two (2) stationary generators. The new generators will replace units at Fire Station #7 and the Bobby Ballard Pump Station. These two generators provide a critical backup power source for the operation of lights, overhead doors, pump infrastructure and communication systems during power outages. The 2001 generator at Bobby Ballard Pump Station and the 1998 generator at Fire Station #7 are beginning to show signs of severe wear and tear and eventual failure. Internal engine parts are severely worn, resulting in hard start and low combustion, which contaminates the engine oil with unburned fuel. These particular engines are approaching obsolescence and replacement parts are no longer manufactured. Staff recommends replacement of these two generators to maintain system reliability for Public Works and Fire Department response times during power outages. For competitive purposes, quotes were obtained from multiple vendors. There are no registered HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) vendors for this product line. Staff recommends the purchase of two (2) stationary generators from Hastech Solutions.
