Title
Consider Authorizing The City Manager To Approve A Contract With XIT Paving And Construction, Inc. For The Marsh Lane Road Improvements Project In An Amount Not To Exceed $1,510,230.00.

Body
BACKGROUND:
This project consists of the construction of the southbound lanes of Marsh Lane between Hebron Parkway and Plano Parkway. The northbound lanes, located in Plano, have been in place for many years and currently accommodate northbound and southbound traffic. The roadway will be widened to a six-lane divided arterial roadway. The City of Plano originally received funding from Denton County to construct these lanes, but since the southbound lanes are currently located in Carrollton, staff coordinated with Plano and Denton County in June 2015 and it was agreed that Carrollton would design and build the project and Denton County would provide the funding.
The project is primarily located on undeveloped land and involves the removal of previously excavated material from the Shops at Prestonwood project along with some existing pavement. Therefore, environmental impacts should be minimal. No trees will be removed and no wildlife will be affected by the construction.
The duration of construction is six months. Traffic will basically be unchanged while the southbound lanes are under construction. Project signs will be placed at both ends of Marsh Lane while it is under construction and the project has been placed on the monthly Construction Update and is included on the City's web site.
