Body

BACKGROUND:

This is a request for approval of a resolution acknowledging a request for annexation, setting hearing dates, and directing staff to prepare a Service Plan with regard to the proposed annexation of approximately 140.244 acres of land.

The request is being submitted by CH PH 10, LLC, which is proposing development of a new phase of Castle Hills.  The applicant proposes approximately 275 single-family detached houses and a multi-family tract with a density of 22 units per acre near the northwest corner of the intersection of FM 544/Parker Road and Josey Lane. (Reference Exhibit B of the resolution)

If City Council approves the attached resolution then public hearings will be held on November 1 and 15, 2016.  A special meeting for City Council to act on the annexation ordinance would be necessary on December 6, 2016 in order to comply with State law.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:

Staff recommends City Council approve a resolution acknowledging a request for annexation, setting public hearing dates, and directing staff to prepare a Service Plan for the property.
