Present Certificates To Consistently-Compliant Industries And The 2016 Environmental Distinction Award.

BACKGROUND:
The presentation of the Environmental Distinction Award and certificates to consistently-compliant industries is aimed at recognizing regulated industries in Carrollton that strive for environmental excellence. The consistently-compliant awards affirm the city’s environmental commitment by recognizing companies that integrate sound environmental practices into their operations. This year, twelve facilities achieved consistently-compliant status.
The Environmental Distinction Award recognizes companies that go beyond mere compliance to become an environmental leader in the community. Candidates for the distinction award must apply and demonstrate that the company has improved processes, minimized environmental impacts, and is involved in the community. This is the fourteenth year that the Environmental Services Department has presented these awards.

This recognition exemplifies the City’s resolve to promote environmental excellence and to improve the quality and vitality of the community.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff requests that Mayor Marchant and Councilmember Babick present certificates of recognition to the consistently-compliant industries and the 2016 Environmental Distinction Award to the selected recipient.
