Consider Bid Award For The Cleaning Of Sanitary Sewer Inceptors For Public Works To Acme Utility In An Amount To Not Exceed $70,000.00.

BACKGROUND:
This service will provide cleaning and video taping of large diameter (6”- 36”) sanitary sewer main interceptors, and identify inflow, infiltration and structural defects within the wastewater collection system. The city provides a similar service for smaller diameter mains with in-house equipment and crews. Defects discovered as a result of this service will be documented and scheduled for repairs, which will help defray treatment cost of wastewater, provided by the Trinity River Authority. This bid has three renewal options available based on mutual agreement.
Bids were advertised and received from four vendors. Bids were advertised in the Carrollton Star, published on the city’s website, and sent to a bid publishing service called Demandstar to increase vendor participation.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The service on Bid # 17-005 will be purchased from budgeted funds for the cost centers and amounts as listed below.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommends that the low bid meeting all specifications be awarded to ACME Utility for an amount not to exceed $70,000.
