Consider Approval Of A Resolution Appointing L. Erin Rinehart As The City Manager Of The City Of Carrollton.

BACKGROUND:
Since August, the Mayor and City Council have been working diligently to find the next City Manager. A nationwide, multi-faceted search was conducted and Council had a very strong group of applicants to choose from. The Council’s vision during this process was to ensure that its long-term strategic goals are maintained, as well as continuing to provide a quality living and working environment for our citizens and employees.
In early November, Council narrowed down the finalists and interviews were conducted at a special meeting on November 29. There were multiple qualified candidates; however, Council reached consensus unanimously and directed the Mayor and staff to negotiate with the top candidate. The City Council will vote on a resolution to approve a contract setting forth the outcome of those negotiations and appoint the desired candidate, Erin Rinehart, in compliance with the City Charter.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Approve the resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute the attached employment agreement and appointing L. Erin Rinehart as the next City Manager effective January 13, 2017.
