Title
Consider Approval Of The Purchase Of Installation And Landscape Materials With Bonick Landscaping For A.W. Perry Landscape Enhancement Project In An Amount Not To Exceed $36,850.00.

Body
BACKGROUND:
The landscape at the A.W. Perry Homestead Museum is in need of plant enhancements and drainage repairs. The Homestead grounds are in use throughout the year and the existing flower beds, irrigation, and pathways show signs of wear and deterioration. When it rains, the front house entryway, sidewalk and roof line along the house holds muddy water causing the walking path to flood. This makes access to the house difficult and slippery to those visiting the grounds.

The proposed landscape is specifically designed with the time period in mind making use of plants that would have been used by homesteaders in a Texas Victorian style home in the early 1900s. The enhancements and repairs will add to the beautification of the property as well as functionality.

Staff recommends hiring Bonick Landscaping to repair drainage and enhance the Homestead grounds. Bonick Landscaping is a residential Dallas landscape architect company holding accreditation from the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, AIA, and American Society of Landscape Architects. Bonick has provided services for historical and contemporary properties located throughout the DFW region.
