BACKGROUND:

This is a request for a special use permit to allow an 84-children day care center at the North Dallas Family Church. 

 

The current (SF-7/14) Single-Family District zoning prohibits child day care centers.  A separate request to rezone the property to the (O-2) Office District is on the agenda for consideration.  Approval of the companion zoning request is necessary in order to consider the special use permit for the child day care center.

 

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

There are no financial implications on the current or future operating budgets regarding this request.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:

On December 6, 2018 the Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended APPROVAL of the request.  There were no public comments received or presented at the public hearing. The attached ordinance reflects the action of the Commission.

 

Staff recommends approval and adoption of the ordinance.
