BACKGROUND:

IT Governance requires an IT Project Manager to manage the internal and external work streams and tasks involved in implementing new systems within IT and various other City departments. This resource will manage projects related to IT “run the business” initiatives and business projects in other departments with IT components.

o                     Establish a process for continuously seeking out best practices to regularly evaluate and improve internal processes

o                     Judiciously invest in technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency

 

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

The funds for this item are budgeted in the IT Project Governance Fund (#854105-61190-1203830199) and company references have been verified.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:

Staff recommends approval of budgeted spend for an IT Project Manager on North Central Texas Council of Governments cooperative purchasing program (Contract #NCT-2015-05) Matrix Technology Group for $90,720.00.
