BACKGROUND:
Fleet Services is requesting the purchase of one (1) Chevrolet Colorado assigned to Building Inspection. The current vehicle will be retired per Fleet’s policy on age, mileage, and maintenance. The recommended replacement is being made after extensive discussions with the operator and manager to properly align vehicle specifications with current business needs.
The replacement vehicle will be purchased from previously budgeted funds in the Fleet Replacement account. While this vehicle does not exceed $50,000.00 the City has exceeded the $50,000.00 threshold with the vendor, Reliable Chevrolet.

The truck will be purchased from budgeted funds from the accounts and amounts listed below.

Purchasing vehicles such as the Colorado pickup truck ensures City employees have the resources necessary to do their job, which is a Council strategic goal.

Staff recommends approval to purchase one (1) Chevrolet Colorado from Reliable Chevrolet through an Inter-Local agreement with Tarrant County in an amount not to exceed $22,853.00.
