BACKGROUND:
Fleet Services is requesting the purchase of one (1) Transit Van assigned to General Services. The current vehicle will be retired per Fleet’s policy on age, mileage, and maintenance. The recommended replacement is being made after extensive discussions with operators and the manager to properly align vehicle specifications with current business needs.
The replacement vehicle will be purchased from previously budgeted funds in the Fleet Replacement account. While this vehicle does not exceed the $50,000.00 approval threshold from Council, the City has exceeded the $50,000.00 threshold with the vendor, Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford.

Staff recommends approval to purchase one (1) Transit Van from Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford through an Inter-Local agreement with Tarrant County in an amount not to exceed $25,508.00.
