Consider Approval of RFP # 20-016 Rhoton Park Playground For The Parks Department From Game Time Inc., In An Amount Not To Exceed $275,000.00.

BACKGROUND:
The Parks Department is requesting to install a playground at Rhoton Park using funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The CDBG is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to assist residents and areas within the city that are designated low income and have a higher concentration of minority residents. The Rhoton Park location meets both criteria. This playground will benefit the surrounding community by providing an open space for children to play and develop. The chosen design is inclusive for individuals with all abilities and offers lots of play value as well.
A Request For Proposal was issued and advertised, and we received four bid responses.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The funding for the equipment and installation of the playground is available through CDBG in the following account:

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommends City Council approve RFP #20-016 to Game Time Inc., using CDBG funds in an amount not to exceed $275,000.00.
NOTES: The difference in the offer of $272,333.20 chosen and budget allowance is $2666.80, which will be used as a contingency, and set aside if needed.
