Consider Approval To Purchase EMS Supplies For The Fire Department From Bound Tree Medical, LLC, Using An Inter-Local Agreement With The City Of Midlothian In An Amount Not To Exceed $242,460.00 Annually.

BACKGROUND:
This agenda item is for the purchase of Emergency Medical System (EMS) supplies utilized by Carrollton Fire Rescue. Examples of these items used for the ambulances are medications, bandages, sheets, gloves and masks and other disposable supplies.
The EMS supplies will be purchased through our inter-local agreement with the City of Midlothian. This inter-local agreement meets all state of Texas competitive bidding requirements and resulted in an award to Bound Tree Medical LLC as primary vendor with a secondary contract award to Life-Assist.
This two-year approved contract contains three - one-year renewal options. The initial two-year contract term amount will not exceed $484,920.00 based on our current budget. The additional three one-year renewal options will not exceed an annual amount of $242,460.00. This total five-year contract is valued a $1,212,300.00.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The supplies on this Interlocal agreement will be purchased from budgeted funds for the accounting units and amounts as listed below.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommends that the best value for the City of Carrollton is to use Bound Tree Medical LLC as the primary vendor and Life-Assist as a secondary vendor based on a bid award and Interlocal agreement with the City of Midlothian for the amount not to exceed $242,460.00 annually.
