BACKGROUND:
Fleet Services is requesting the purchase of one (1) Bobcat MT-100 Mini track loader from Bobcat for the Parks department. This unit will replace 8208 which is a 2007 track loader. This unit has an average life span of 10 years. Discussions with the department identified the other accessories that would make the unit more flexible. By adding additional attachments and keeping the older attachments this unit becomes very versatile for the Parks department. The Parks department will use this piece of equipment daily working on various projects across the City.
After discussions with Parks staff, the Bobcat products were chosen. Staff requested quotes from Bobcat on two purchasing cooperatives. After reviewing the quotes, staff recommends purchasing through the BuyBoard purchasing cooperative. This cooperative entity meets all state of Texas competitive bidding requirements.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This piece of equipment will be purchased from budgeted funds from the Vehicle Replacement Fund.
IMPACT ON COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY:
Purchasing the right vehicles/equipment for the job such as this, ensures that City employees have the right resources to do their job, which is a Council Strategic goal.
