Title

Consider Approval Of The Purchase Of Three Chevrolet Blazers From Lake Country Chevrolet Through An Interlocal Agreement With The TIPS Purchasing Cooperative In An Amount Not To Exceed $116,689.00.

Body

BACKGROUND:

Fleet Services is recommending the purchase of three Chevrolet Blazers assigned to the Police Department. The vehicles being replaced are three passenger vehicles -- a 2013 Ford Taurus and two 2013 Ford Edges.   The vehicles are being replaced due to the Fleet policy on age and repair costs. These vehicles are used daily for transporting administrative staff around the city.  Replacement vehicles were demonstrated and discussed with the department to properly align vehicle specifications with current business needs.

Staff recommends purchasing the vehicles from Lake Country Chevrolet through the TIPS purchasing cooperative. This cooperative purchasing entity meets all state of Texas competitive bidding requirements. The use of cooperative purchasing agencies is allowed under state law.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

The vehicles will be purchased using previously budgeted funds in the Fleet Replacement Fund.
