BACKGROUND:

The City has applied for the State of Texas’ Music Friendly Community Certification Program, which requires the creation of a music advisory board. The Music Advisory Board, or “MAB”, will be composed of five (5) members appointed by City Council and fulfill the obligations of the program, including studying the development of the local music scene, assisting in implementing programs to meet the needs of the local music industry, review matters that affect the music industry, and other duties as requested by Council.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:

Staff recommends approval of a resolution establishing a music advisory board and providing for administrative details related thereto.
