BACKGROUND:

The contract with Axon Enterprises, Inc was originally approved on June 01, 2021 for a 10 year contract.

 

For FY2025 Council approved the increase of 11 tasers to enable the Police Department for outfit all current sworn personnel positions with a taser.  This addition will cost $34,202 annually. 

 

In addition, Council approved the addition of 2 sworn personnel (SRO Sgt. and SRO) and 1 PSO including additional tasers, body cameras and software licenses.  This addition will cost $11,347 annually.

 

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

Funding for the increase of the Police Department items has been previously approved by the City Council in the FY2025 budget. 

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:

Consider a resolution authorizing the City manager to execute an amendment to the contract with Axon Enterprises, Inc, for additional tasers, body cameras and software licensing, increasing the annual expenditure to an amount not to exceed $595,549.00 for a revised contract amount not to exceed $5,622,294.00.
