Consider An Ordinance Amending Section 151.54 Of The Sign Code Related To The (TC) Transit Center Zoning District.

BACKGROUND:
In order to encourage higher quality signage, streamline the process to allow creative signage and introduce additional sign types and illumination methods within the (TC) Transit Center zoning district, staff is recommending updates to the Sign Code.
On October 16, 2023, staff presented proposed changes to the Sign Code to the City Council TOD Committee. On October 24, 2023, these proposed changes were presented to City Council as a worksession item.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
There are no direct financial impacts to the City to process the adoption and amendments to the Sign Code.
IMPACT ON COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY:
The consistent review and adjustment of development codes works to shape development in the City. Such revisions to the Sign Code will allow for the introduction of technological advancements in sign types, materials and construction methodology.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION/ACTION DESIRED:
Staff recommends City Council approval of an ordinance adopting amendments to the Sign Code related to the (TC) Transit Center District.
