Consider Approval Of The Purchase Of SWAT Team Body Armor And Helmets From GT Distributors, Inc. Through The BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative In An Amount Not To Exceed $121,842.46.

BACKGROUND:
The Carrollton SWAT Team needs to replace existing ballistic armor and helmets that have reached or are reaching their end of life cycle. The replacement of this armor is a critical need to ensure members of the Carrollton SWAT Team have the protective equipment needed to safely and effectively respond to calls. The armor will be purchased utilizing Homeland Security Grant funds and will replace armor that was also previously purchased utilizing these grant funds. The City's objective is to continue meeting this critical need in the most cost-effective manner. The armor will be purchased from GT Distributors, Inc. through the BuyBoard purchasing cooperative.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds for this purchase were secured via 2021 and 2022 Urban Area Security Initiative Grant Sweep Funds. $100,131.08 was secured under the UASI 2021 reimbursement grant, and $21,711.38 was secured under the UASI 2022 reimbursement grant, for a combined amount not to exceed $121,842.46. Funding is available from the following accounts:
