BACKGROUND:
City Council awarded a contract on June 20, 2023, to KIK Underground, LLC in the amount of $5,266,909.50. The scope of the project is to replace streets and sidewalks throughout the Northland Estates neighborhood. Change order no. 1, in the amount of $3,114.54, was approved administratively on July 28, 2023. It was for increasing the size of a sanitary sewer pipe as required by the City's Wastewater Collection System Master Plan.

Change order no. 2 is in the amount of $50,849.00, and will cover the following items:
* Additional water line and utility work to install an additional fire hydrant;
* Increase the thickness of the bottom slab of the concrete channel;
* Additional tree removal requests by property owners and within the rights-of-way.

The duration of construction will not be affected and remains at 300 calendar days.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
KIK Underground, LLC submitted a proposal to the City to cover the change order in an amount not to exceed $50,849.00. The revised contract amount will be $5,320,873.04, which is an increase of 1% from the original contract amount. Funding is available in the Streets Consolidated, Drainage Consolidated and Utility Consolidated funds.
